I need to take a new, as a couple are missing and one of these is gone.
the 15" 30-40 AI, top center is gone.
otherwise, rifle barrels are 6mmAI JP brake for long range work on varmints.
Bottom right is a 7BRM for my general purpose but mostly still hunting setup.
Bottom left is the 9.3x74R , my bigger than deer rig.
The other 2 pistol barrels are the fluted 243AI for moderate range varmints,
and the 218 Bee for the shorter ranges.
Not pictured above are the
250airln primarily an Antelope rig

and the 6.5x57air set up for deer

I do have another in process of being built, and that is a .300jnkr (.300-376 radius shoulder)
it'll be set up like the 6.5 but with elk in mind this coming season  ;)

Steve

I just ordered a 20" Katahdin 45-70 bbl for my ProHunter 209x50  rifle. What kind of accuracy are you getting? Any particular loads working better than others?

RWD - mind if I ask what kind of performance you can get in the 6.5 BRM on a G2 platform ? I had always assumed it was an Encore round and a bit much for the Contender G2.
I am thinking it would make an excellent round in a contender carbine.

Varmint,

I've had good luck with:

IMR4198  36gr with 300gr hornady JHP no crimp (max encore load per Lyman) mild recoil

IMR4198  44gr with 250gr Barnes XFN no crimp (Barnes Manual) moderate recoil  (marlin level load)

Both will shoot 2" groups at 100yds in my barrel. I'm sure a trigger job and a better shooter could improve the groups with these loads. I only need to shoot 75 yds max , so these are all I need for now.  This gun is a pleasure to shoot with these loads and has taken a couple whitetails at close range.

Good luck,

Steve

Only recently got it, so have not done much work. It should about equal 6.5 JDJ stats. Have not yet pulled the chrony for this one, so warmer weather will tell.

Too many to post pictures of (20 frames/50+ barrels, lots of custom wood), but here's a few.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

Brush/Backpack rifle - Pro-Hunter in .308 Win - 16.25" barrel - Nikon ProStaff scope.  I'm still working on setting up with iron sights (as backup) and have plans to switch to the Bushnell laser rangefinder scope.

And broken down for packing:

Nice looking rig kmac.  I'm doing a similar project in .243. Just waiting for barrel to return from shortening.

Well, I only have 1 Encore and it is not nearly as pretty as some of the others....Here she goes
T/C Encore 209x45 Weaver V10 2-10x38 Stainless/black syn. My best shot to date was a 4 pointer shot last fall @ 221 yards with Hornady 200gr. SST.

kmac is that thing loud?

Yep, especially without earplugs!  I find that an empty .45ACP casing fits my ears just right.  I will say also that it's spot-on accurate.  It does, however, lose about 160fps with the shortening.

Here is my .223 from Bullberry. It has the fancy English walnut stock and the fancy black walnut forearm on it. When I get tired of the .223 I can switch off to my .17 hmr that I have from MGM.
