Midsouth Again
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:17:30 AM »
A half a dozen places in this town to buy new gun,
and nobody has a bullet puller.
Only one even knew what I was talking about.
Said he could have it in 7-8 days.

Midsouth saves the day again!

And just when you think you're not getting any value from the bullet puller I'll seat a bullet too deeply when doing load development and the puller saves the day by letting me try again.

This one will pay for itself the first day.
I have about 30 rounds that won't chamber in a very picky single shot.

Been planning to buy one for months.
Just can't find one local.

Just be patient with it and don't try to rush anything. It can take quite a few raps. Especially with crimped handgun ammo. I did a new load a couple of days ago and seated a 44 magnum too deeply and I was able to back it out enough to get it properly seated. It took a while, though.

The bullet puller I have is a collet type. I have a collet for every size bullet I shoot. You select the proper size collet put the puller in a press, clamp down on the bullet and back the press off, out comes the bullet. I can pull lots of bullets in a half and hour. Did you get an inertia type (the ones you pound) or the type that clamps onto the bullet? The inertia type has an advantage when the bullet is seated too far in to get a hold of it with a collet, but other than that I like the collet type - no pounding.

Now you tell me Graybeard. :)
I could have bumped my order to $40 pretty easy.

It is the inertia type. Same reason as everybody else.
No collets to buy.

I did not look over the specials. I just ordered $200+ worth of stuff. I would have got the sling had I been paying attention.

I shop all of the major on line suppliers and some relatively unknown one when I looking for things. I don`t always buy at Mid-South, but them do get a good share of my business. I have always found them to have excellent service and competitive prices.

I'm lucky that I live within driving distance of MidSouth. Went up there a while back and bought an Encore pistol frame for about $45 less than anybody else would sell me one for.
They are good people.
