scope mount on the side
« on: March 08, 2008, 12:30:35 PM »
Found a youth model 7-08 yesterday, wuz about to buy it till I got to looking at the scope mounts.  They are not centered on top of the barrel or straight up and down the barrel.  This is a brand new gun and I can get it at a decent price. Will NEF fix it or will they say its within tolerances?

Mounts?? You mean the base isn't aligned with the barrel? They'll fix it if it's a factory fitted barrel, buy it! More than likely they'll replace the barrel.

yes, I meant base.  It is a brand new gun, I'll try to use it to leverage a little more off the price.

thanks

Just make sure the recoil lug on the barrel has the last three digits of the receiver's serial number, stamped on it.  If they are different, then the "brand new gun" ain't brand new, and it's not a factory matched barrel.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
