270 Win. light recoil load
« on: March 06, 2008, 09:40:09 AM »
I loaded some 270 Win. with 43gr IMR-4320 behind a 130gr Remington PSPCL. I took them to the range today and I think I found a winner. I shot a 1/2" group at 100 yards. They shot low and a little to the right but if I can get them to do this consistently I'll be happy. There was a noticeable reduction in recoil also. I'll set up my crony the next time to see what the velocity is but as for now I'm encouraged.

For light loads I went with nim. loads with 4064. Not much recoil and knocked the deer dead as can be.

I haven't shot anything but paper yet. I just started looking for a light load because of shoulder problems. The load I tried looks promising but I might try some 4064 and see how they compare. What bullet were you using?
