While up in Sharon, PA last weekend I picked up a Marlin M-30TK.  Why?  Well, it was there, I haven't had a 30/30 since my eldest boy hocked my pre-64 M-94, and I had an urge for a carbine type rifle.  18.5 inch barrel, straight stock, looks like it will be fun to play with.  I understand this model was a run made for K-Mart.  Anybody have any first, second, third hand experience with them?  I just want to hear what other folk have to say about my new rifle!   ;D

I have the same rifle but the Wal mart version  it's marked AW I love it, shoots great like the straight stock.  I have a lyman 66 on mine  great little gun

Weagle over at the GON Forum (www.forum.gon.com) had his 30 TK bored out to a .375 and says he loves the gun...

I am gonna have a Donor 336 30-30 done...  We'll see how it goes!!!

   I purchased a used Model 30 TK last year for under $200.  In excellent condition except the butt (birch wood?) stock had been cut for a youth.  Found
   new Marlin replacement  butt and forend (walnut/checkered) and put on the rifle (the forend is a special short version, used on only a few other 
   Marlins that I know of).   Lighter by half a pound and only 36.5 inches long compared to the standard 336 carbine. You have a great rifle, accurate and 
   handy.  Enjoy it. 

   Just noticed.  On an auction sight there is a Marlin 30 TK in factory original .38-55 (barrel so marked)!!!!  Going for over six hundred dollars!

Marlin has never chambered the 30TK in 38/55. If it states that, it was done outside the factory.

picked up a 30TK just 2 weeks ago or so,stripped it down, refinished with Watco Danish Oil.  It turned out light and the grain shows through well, some may not like it but it's appealing to me, found the rascal at a pawn shop for the princely sum of $136.50 out the door! Can be seen here:
