My muzzle loader SxS double shotgun is strictly a wall hanger for me but were I going to take such out to shoot I think I'd put the shot in individual vials or bottles already premeasured and ready to pour in. When I used to use a muzzle loading rifle for some limited hunting I bought little plastic holders made for the task. It held the powder in one side and the bullet in the other compartment on the other end. I'd think those are likely still available and would work wonderfully for shotguns as well as rifles. That would be my first choice in how to do it assuming of course the comparment is large enough to hold the proper amount of shot.

well for turkey hunting i carry a quick load . made from paper  much like the paper cartridges used for the bess and such .
however most time i carry a shot pouch . this carries up to 5lbs of shot “ way more then needed “  and has a  measured spout that  can be set from ¾ oz up to 1 ¼ oz of shot .
There are two basic types of these spouts , and English spout and a Irish spout .
I prefer the Irish as it is more robust
