.380/9mm mak conversion
« on: March 15, 2008, 06:38:33 AM »
Would it be possible to convert a Bersa .380 or 9mm Makarov, such as the PA-63, to a left handed firearm?  I am looking at my Bersa right now, and just from face value it doesn't look impossible.  I'm not too worried about the slide lock, just the safety decocker and possibly the magazing release button.  Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Almost anything is possible with enough skill and or money.. The simplest fix is to adopt tactical practices to adapt yourself to the weapon and it's peculiarities. The various pocket pistols as just shooters create few problems and in serious social situations are really last ditch options.. If truly bothered a KelTec in 380(model P3AT) has no safety, DA only and can be had for around $275 or a bit. I've carried one as a deep cover defense weapon for several years and it's always worked well for me. The 380 is a poor second to my normal 45acp but better that a knife.. the DA only feature makes the left hand right hand issue moot..
