Flex-Tech Stocks....Is it worth it?
« on: March 16, 2008, 10:31:47 AM »
Just as the topic states, are they worth it and do they actually cut down recoil that much?  Thinking of getting one for a 35 Whelen barrel and maybe future larger calibers but not sure.

If I may give my opinion, I shot a 300 Win Mag with a Flex-Tech Stock and it felted like a 243. I think it is worth the cost. I believe that it will reduce the recoil around 50 percent.

I agree I have a 300 WM and it does lick pretty good but it doesn't hurt at all. I think it's about like a 30-06.

Yes!!

Get one, I got one for my birthday last year, and it made a night and day difference on my 50 cal. Muzzleloader.  I also shoot a 375 win. with it, and even though the recoil is only about 16 ft-lbs, I could shoot it all day, and not be worn out!  Well worth the money, check ebay for any good deals!

I'm shooting full bore .460 S&W mag and .50 Cal Muzzle Loader with 410 grain bullets and 120 grains of RS. Don't even want to think what the recoil would be like without the flex-tech stock.
Money well spent IMHO.

Only Encore I've ever shot is my Pro Hunter which comes with Flex Tech stock! Compared to my old Winchester Model 70's 270 win & 300 win. mag I say thank you T/C I can shoot my 300 win mag at range and not come home sore 270 feels like 22-250 so go for it!

I'm convinced.  After hearing your positive remarks and talking to some buddies here that have them I think it'll be worth it.  Now the only problem is where to find a Realtree Flex-Tech regular stock (I'm a lefty) without paying out the wazoo for it.  I have a Realtree regular stock to sell so that'll make up some difference.
