I asked this question a while back, nobody would admit to ever doing so.  I've threatened it, just don't have a barrel I am willing to mess up to do so.  How about it, anybody got a junk barrel they are willing to give up?  I can draw it up and will publish results.  I have access to optical comparitors, CMM equipment, and all kinds of other fancy stuff at work.  I also had 2 yrs of drafting in college, on my way to an Engineering degree.

I don't think there is any measurement that cannot be taken with the lug still on the barrel.  Larry

I've been drawing stuff up for 25 years and submitting it to machine shops for quotes.  So yes, I can.

Daniel Laws,
If you just draw the lug part, I would like a copy.  I don't really need it, but it wouldn't hurt to have a good quality print.  I bet it will much better than anything I can cook up.

Thanks,
Paul

The next time I see a CHEAP H&R shotgun at a flea market, I'm going to buy it.  Just to check out the underlug.  There are too many little nooks and crannies in the lug assembly to trust some of the measurements while mounted on a barrel.  I've looked, believe me, and I don't think it is practical unless the lug can be removed.    I think one of the older ones, with the silver soldered lug, would be easier to remove.  Once again, if anybody has a bent, broken or battered barrel, I'd like to have it just for this purpose.
