Reloads for conversion cylinder. SAFE?
« on: April 12, 2008, 04:29:29 PM »
Howdy all. Hope this is ok here. I am waiting for my Pietta '58 Remmy to get back from Taylors from having an R&D cylinder fitted. In the mean time i have reloaded some ammo for it and wanted to see if any of you that load your own have any warnings for the loads i chose to use. I have loads with 7, 7 1/2, and 8 grs of Unique. 5, 5 1/2, and 6 grs of Bullseye. 5 grs of Red Dot. 7 grs of Green Dot, and 38 grs equiv. plus a lubed felt wad, of Pyrodex P. All of these with a 200 gr. lead bullet, Hornady, brass, and CCI #300 primers. So what ya think. Any advice appreciated as this is my first time reloading for the Colt .45. I do have prior experience reloading other calibers.

Guns like yours are even weaker than the old Colt SAA so for sure if the load isn't listed as safe in the old Colts then don't use it in yours.

Yea, that is why i am loading them on the Light side. Just wondered if anyone else was using a conversion and what they thought of the loads, or have any suggestions for better loads. Thanks for the reply.
