Click on my web-site :) I think the .44Mag if loaded right it will do anything you need it to do.240gr XTP's for deer 300 XTP's for BIG BOY's.

I have killed a 425 pound Russian Boar with a 44 mag. It took 3 shots to the chest, and did not even, make him flinch. He started to run away, I took another shot and missed, then took 1 more shot and spine him. I use 300 XTP, They worked great. His lungs were jelly, and his heart, was in 2 pieces.

:oops: With the .44 magnum, it was just a good sized mule deer. I've taken one old nasty range cow, large wild boar, elk, and blue wildebeeste with a .41Magnum. I'd have taken a kudu with the .41Magnum, but I couldn't get a shot I liked while stalking them.  8)   RKBA!

I've killed numerous white tail deer and several large boar hogs with a .44 mag. revolver. Details of all have been told on this site many times. Lots of them are on my Campfire Tales but not all.

Numerous hogs, some running wild, and a bunch from my large trap, one Jacobs Ram weighing just under 300#, one whitetail.   Hope to tag more with it next deer season.  Quit using 240 XTP's after the big hog kept going.  Love the .44 mag!

Haven't taken anything larger than deer, biggest was weighed at the check station at 182 lb dressed.  Nice 8 pt. buck.  Shot was 66 yds from a 10" TC Contender used a Nosler 200 JHP and 2400 powder.

Big rottwieler that attacked me in my backyard. One shot in the chest at 6 feet. I stayed shaken up for a while.

When I was around 20 years old I went hunting wild hog in central Florida and killed a good sized one at about 35 yards or so with some 240 grain Speer softpoints . It was over 250 pounds. A lot of fun that needs to be repeated.

A friend of mine used his 44 mag to kill his cape buffao. He used the SSK 320 grain cast bullets.  He had complete penetration with it standing broadside.

I killed a camp robber jay with mine.  He was half way up a big pine tree and I had to show my hunting buddies how I could shoot with my 44 mag.  They had already missed several times with their 22s.  I got him dead center.  The 300gr lee rround flat nose really made him splash.

My brother and I were walking down the road from Dixie Idaho to Macky Bar one day when we encountered some blue grouse.  He was afraid to shoot them with his 357 cause he didn't want to blow them up so bad that he couldn't eat'em.  I knocked the heads off of 2 of them before they decided to leave the area.  That was with the Lee 300gr again.

I had a Black bear sow charge me one day.  She didn't see her cub run out of the other side of the brush they were in and thought I had him.  She didn't even give me time to get off my horse, she just came hell bent down the hill right at me.  I figured I had time for 2 shots if I hurried, so I put the first one in the dirt right at her nose.  I was again useing the lee 300gr.  It kicked up so much dirt that she got lost in the fog and when she got oriented again, she didn't think I had her cub anymore.  

That same load has killed numerous skunks out around my hay stack and I even wounded my chroney with it.  

I love my 44 mag

The .44Mag is more versitile than most people realize.  I've taken lots of game with it including rabbits, grouse, fox, coyote, javelina, hogs, whitetail deer, caribou, black bear, and moose.  I came close to getting a decent elk but he kept moving and I couldn't get within my effective range.  My largest critter was an Alaskan moose with a 62.5 inch inside spread that I shot from about 15 yds.  Two 300gr JSPs and he went about 60 yds before dropping - I've got a few good campfire stories to tell about that adventure!  I tried to copy and paste a picture of the big moose here but that didn't work.  Do I need to post it somewhere else on the web (webshots, etc) and put a link here or is there a better way?
