« on: March 24, 2008, 08:55:42 AM »
I recently got a 700 rem in a trade that did not have a bolt. Could you all advise me where to find one and the approximate cost.

Years ago removing the bolt from a bolt action rifle was a sure way of not getting your rifle stolen, with that said I would make sure it wasnt one of those, then I would contact Remington to get the price and cost, as I wouldnt want a miss matched headspaced bolt in my rifle, you cant just stick any bolt in your rifle they are all close except short vs. long action but that doesnt make it safe.   JIM

I think Midway sells them. I think they are over $100.00 though. Dale

Might want to try Wisners but I think it's gonna be kinda pricey. :(  I'd check that serial # too.
