You're right, it sounds like this guy has done a lot of dirt to a lot of people and has earned the reputation he has gotten. I've encountered a few like that at gun shows, they'd rather have the gratification of knowing they've really stuck it to one person than to make a fair profit from a dozen honest deals. Sad to say there are such people.
