I think it will work fine.  For my 45 Colt hunting loads, I cast 50% WW and 50% lead and drive them over 1,500 f/s without appreciable leading.  How fast you can shoot bullets without leading depends on size of bullet, condition of bore, the type of lube and not just bullet hardness.  Soft bullets can be better than hard if shooting slightly undersized bullets.  Try a few and see.

castaway is right but i dont like going quite as soft as him. What i find is a decent alloy for up to about 11-1200 fps is 3/4 ww 1/4 pure with about 3 percent tin added to it.

Might I suggest you trade your pure lead to someone  for WW or a specific alloy or maybe even pre cast bullets.

If you're interested I'll swap you some WW and Linotype for the pure lead.

Pure lead is harder to come by than the other materials.  There aren't as many sources for "used or reclaimed" pure lead so the black powder guys are having a tough time.  If you were in the New Jersey area I could hook you up with someone who would gladly trade you wheel weights for pure lead.

Amen to the pure lead.  My last batch was from roof vents and flashing, that came off old roofs after the bad hurricane season a few years ago in Florida.  I can still find ww's free at tire shops.

Your right, pure lead is getting hard to find. The last I got was shielding off of a particle accelerator! Dead soft, but really weird shapes. Also watch for old dentist offices or places that had X-Ray machines, there is normally lead shielding in the walls of those rooms and when they are torn down or remodeled into new office spaces the lead is removed.
