bought a t/c 209x50, wondering if anyone could tell me anything.have seen t/c has came out with shockwave sabots at 200 gr. and what about the new 777 pellets? any info. appreciated. Thanks the addict :twisted:

Whitetail,
I purchased a T/C SS 209/50 last year. I had a lot of trouble getting the right load to group. I finally settled on (2) Clean Shot pellets, Nosler 44 mag 240 gr hollow points and Nosler Sabots. I am well pleased with the results.
I tried some suggestions from this forum with very little luck. You may have to experiment, Don't get discouraged like I did and start blaming T/C. It will come around when you get it right.

Whitetail I bought my 209x50 last year and went with the Barnes X 250grn. sabot with 100 grns of 777 ff. They are very accurate only problem is after first shot they are hard to load.

I also have a T/C 209-50!

Buy the "loose" FF 777 so you can adjust your powder load perfectly.

For best results in bullets (my opinion)
T/C Shockwave 250-300 grain
Dead Centers 240-300 grain
Powerbelts - aerotip 348 grain
Precision Extended range 240-300 grain

thanks for the replies, alot of variety out there right now didn't know if there was a certain load anyone had worked up or not? I hunt in the piedmont of N.Carolina and have some pretty good agricultural fields could have to stretch out to 200yds. I wonder how 150 gr. of 777 pellets and a 200gr. shockwave or 250gr. hornady sst would do?probably gonna start shooting in a few weeks, our muzzleloader season is the week before Thanksgiving. thanks again :twisted:
