On another forum a guy shot an elk with a 338 platinum with 150 grain pellets, a little over 50 yards and the recovered bullet weighed 185 grains.

With moose, Nothing lighter than 348 grains and make sure its an Aerotip.
But try that coffee can with with some wet sanded packed into it and set it up out there at 50 and 100 yards and see what happens.
