.308 win ?
« on: March 23, 2008, 11:05:54 AM »
Most accurate rate load in the nosler book for IMR 4350 is 48 grs with the 165 gr bullet.48 grains in the case looks like there isnt going to be room for the bullet,is it safe to compress this powder to reach this load?BTW this is not the max load, max is 50 gr.Thanx

I've shot 49 grs with 165 speer or hornady bullets. It is very accurate in my rifle, and was compressed pretty good, I had to tap case while adding powder and it was still half way up the neck.

Nonya,

If you are so inclined, please post your range results from this load and the gun that you shot it from. I'm pretty much a Nosler fan and always interested in what different powders do. Yeah...I know each barrel has it's likes, but I would still like to know.

Thanks

Dave

I've had some TSXBT's that I had to compress the hell out of in an -06, especially cause they are a longer bullet... and didn't seem to do much to it.  Ignition still seemed pretty even and such.
