Was just on Remington's website earlier today looking something up and noticed the announcement for their new R-15 rifle.  Looks like it's made to be accurate.  I also see where it states they developed it "in conjunction with the industry leader in AR platforms".  I could be mistaken, but that sounds to me like they're contracting out the manufacturing.  Nothing wrong with that, but they seem to be making less and less and contracting more and more (Spartan line, 798 and 799, and now, I think, R-15s).

Held one today at Gander, very solid, looked and felt way better than I expected. The guy behind the counter goes "It's just a Bushmaster with the Remington name slapped on it" and I respond "And that's bad why?"

Once I pay off this 870 Shurshot, I may put the .22-250 in Layaway  ;)

Once I cut about a third off the I want list... I might have to join you there...

I was thinking have the R-15 and the VTR both in .22-250.... that would make a hell of a pair.

Wait, i was just looking, and didn't see a .22-250 at the remmy sight, you got my hopes up!!  Did you actually see one?

Yeah my bad, they have the .223 and .204 :(

Maybe just from a convenience stand point, I'll go with the .223 so I'll always have ammo for it and the other .223s in the safe.

I looked at one last Friday. It was nice, my personal preference would be a bigger barrel.

Bigger as in length or diameter?

I held the version that had the longer barrel(22") and it seemed perfect. I initially wanted to go with the 16"/collapsible stock model but after holding the fixed stock model with the longer barrel, I've changed my mind.

Bigger as in a bigger diameter, but it is a nice calling rifle. I have a RRA 24" Varmiter that I like alot, but some people would think its heavy. Yes, the 22" length is fine. Big brother just bought a RRA NM today, it has a smaller tube than the RRA Var., but bigger than the REM. & both the NM & Var. has a 3/4" guarantee.

I know that for surplus getting along with the .223 is a good deal... but for blowing away small animals, I just don't think you could go wrong with a good looking nice shooting semi auto in .204.

And you REALLY got my hopes up about the .22-250... god I love that caliber.

You would have to have the AR10 platform for a 22-250. I would watch DPMS, as they have several 308 family calibers available & prob a 22-250
in time.
