BC 45 colt
« on: March 25, 2008, 02:57:53 PM »
Well, the wait is over!  The little cuss came in and was looking great.  Trigger is smooth and light, wood is very nice, but--the colors on the receiver, while very pretty, have a large spot on the bottom where the colors didn't take.  What do I do, send it to H&R?  Has anyone had this problem?  DP.  PS, Still haven't got this computer thing managed yet.  How do you do the faces?

Congrats!!  ;D You can contact H&R and see what the say about a touch up on the frame, worth a shot, might as well get another barrel or three if you send it back!

Uncheck the "Spell check as I type" box below the post window, then the smiley's will work without wiping out the text you just typed! ;)

Called H&R today to see about sending in the frame to have it touched up where the case colors didn't take.  Was told by the lady probably couldn't do anything but send it in if I want.   Not sure I want to send it back as the rest is so sweet!  Will have to play with her first to see if we can be apart that long.  Tim, thanks for the tip.  Have other frames to send in, want a couple more 357 barrels, very interested in your 35 rem. conversion.  Want to use the ejector barrel to take to the Max I think.  Still want a 30-30, 22 Hornet, and the new 44 mag as well.  With 7 kids I just tell the wife, "Honey, it's for them."  Worked so far, not sure how much longer though.  Still can't get the ffaces to work, need a bigger hammer.  (Smile)  DP.
