U. S. Immigration Policy, In A Nutshell
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:12:23 PM »
An old high school buddy sent me this today.  Sums it up pretty well, I think.

I cross ocean, poor and broke.
Take bus, see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there.
Say I need to see welfare.

Welfare say, 'You come no more,
we send cash right to your door.'
Welfare checks - they make you wealthy!
Medicaid - it keep you healthy!

By and by, I get plenty money.
Thanks to you, American dummy!
Write to friends in motherland.
Tell them 'come fast as you can.'

They come in turbans and Ford trucks,
And buy big house with welfare bucks!
They come here, we live together.
More welfare checks, it gets better!

Fourteen families, they moving in,
but neighbor's patience wearing thin.
Finally, American guy moves away.
Now I buy his house,then I say,

'Find more immigrants for house to rent.'
And in the yard I put a tent.
Everything is very good,
and soon we own the neighborhood.

We have hobby, it's called breeding.
Welfare pay for baby feeding.
Kids need dentist? Wives need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!

Americans crazy! They work all year,
to keep the welfare running here.
We think US darn good place.
Too darn good for American race!
If they no like us, they can scram.
Got lots of room in Pakistan...
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I believe the immigration department's policy is like most federal and state agencies. Sit around and collect their paychecks and do as little actual work as possible.

My folks came from Poland in the early 1900's to escape from the s---hole that they were born in.  They came with nothing and expected nothing but an opportunity.  They were screened at Ellis Island for diseases, and if one of the family was found to have one, they had a choice:  go back alone, or go back with the family.  They got the worse jobs available, and were grateful for them.  The earlier immigrants, mainly the Germans and Irish, had already worked out of the lousy jobs into the better ones.  They saved every penny possible and soon bought their own houses while still working the lousy jobs.  They made their kids got a better education and became Americans.  They were proud of their heritage, but were Americans through-and-through.  When WW2 came, they fought and died for their country.

Contrast this with the new immigrants:  As soon as they get here they are eligible for all kinds of "programs".  Those who are sick are eligible for SSI even though they never worked a day in the U.S.  My area is one of the areas chosen for resettlement.  Many people born here cannot afford the clothing that these people wear.  I just bought my first leather jacket (I'm 61), and every one of them seems to have been given one at the airport!  My daughter is in the middle of some hard times, and I can vouch for her difficulty of getting government aid.  But then she is a natural born citizen, not an immigrant!  And she actually paid taxes before her present predicament.  That's it!  She must be punished for being a contributor!

And then there are the illegals.....  But that is another story.
