Sierra SSP's
« on: March 31, 2008, 03:29:26 AM »
Saw a box of 80gr 6mm bullets marked SSP single shot pistol. I tried looking them up on the Sierra site but didn't find anything. What are these? What is different about them? Jacket?

Found this on their website. That bullet is listed under the Pro Hunter rifle group:

The traditional, flat base design of the Pro-Hunter® has been skillfully blended with Sierra's world-famous accuracy. Our custom-tapered Pro-Hunter® jacket design helps assure maximum expansion, optimum weight retention and deep penetration for game-stopping, one-shot performance.

they are made for optimal performance in handguns such as the encore and contender. it may be a moot point though as from what i have been told by numerous dealers is that they have been discontinued.
