Dating a 45/70
« on: September 07, 2008, 02:22:20 PM »
I just picked up a stainless 22" for $385.  The serial number is 05011593.  From what I have read here, it is either a 1995 or a 2005.  How does one tell which??  Is there a web site that you can visit to find out?

Your help will be appreciated...as always.
By the way, I sold my 243 Ruger...I am a big bore guy and can shoot it well.  Call me crazy, I just like big holes in things.

Ruger M77 243, Browning B2000, Ruger 22's, Ruger Red Hawk, SBlackhawk, Savage 223 Target...about 20+rifles less than I used to have. :-(

DC,
Try this website. If you don't see it there, post the question on the 45-70 thread.

Never dated a gun before, I flirted with a few but never actually went out on a date with one. I have taken a BUNCH home with me to keep however.  ;D
