Anyone ever heard of "Bushnell Browning" scopes?
« on: March 27, 2008, 07:26:13 AM »
Hi,

I'm wanting to get a decent scope and am considering one of two lines and looking for a little help with this decision.

I have heard that the "Bushnell Browning" line was made by Bushnell for Browning and is discontinued.

I read the Bushnell Browning line is made to the standards of the Bushnell Elite series (not sure if it's 3200 or 4200) in every way except that there is no RainGuard.

Does anyone know (hopefully from experience) if this is true?

I called Bushnell and a rep told me the standard of the Bushnell Brownings is more comparable to the Bushnell Legend series than the Bushnell Elite series. But then I was thinking maybe Bushnell wants to sell their scopes, not some discontinued model made for Browning.

Do you folks know anything about this?

Thanks,

Mike

I've never heard of a "Bushnell Browning" scope, but I have heard of a Browning sports optics line that was manufactured under contract by Bushnell.  The riflescopes were apparently a hybrid between the Bushnell Elite 4200 and 3200 and did not have Rainguard, but did have an optical coating Browning called DuraBrite.  And yes, the Browning riflescopes that were made by Bushnell that are now in closeout are worth every penny of that closeout price.  Hope this helps.

The Browning scopes were re-badged Bushnell 3200s. Nice scopes. But so is a 3200.

True, but the price factor points me at the Browning.
