you can usually go to the powder manufactures website and they will have load data listed for all of their powders and almost any caliber...

Thank you yes I am aware of that. What I am looking for is specific to the H&R 45 colt carbine that others have loaded for with success. Not looking to break any new ground just what others with this gun are using. Kurt

I've only used Lil'gun Kurt, but I've shot 250gr Speer GDHPs and 250gr SSTs, both with max loads will get you over 1900fps, 1½-2" 100yd groups. ;)

The more .45colt I shoot the more I go back to the basics. 255 grain flat nose with 9 grains of Unique runs around 1100fps out of my 94 trapper. Thats as fast as some hunting loads out of a 7 1/2 revolver and its nice to shoot.

Tim what is my pressure max for this frame what I kind of envision is a 250 or so grain bullet at 1500 fps and up I should be able to load some around that and make it accurate? That sst is that hornady ?Kurt

The frame is an SB2, good for 270win pressures and case head thrust, that puts it good up to and including the 460S&W in my book since that's what mines gonna be soon!! ;) Wayne York has done several to Casull which are doing fine, the loads that I've shot in mine so far are Ruger 45 Colt loads from Hodgdon, in fact I went 1gr over with lil'gun cuz I'm using a longer COL and 250gr XTP data, 1.673" with the Speer bullet, 1.941" with the SST, same data.

I haven't shoot any wild animals with mine yet but am using 250 hard cast boolits in front of lil'gun for 1700 fps.  A neck shot on a buff that we purchased last fall seemed to be affective.  Haven't had any leading issues iether.
