I have an EMF Hartford model in .45 Colt with the blackpowder frame (made by Uberti). It is beautifully finished, although the case colors aren't the brightest I've ever seen. The grips are really nice with good figure and it shoots to POA with a 255-grain bullet. It has become one of my most favorite revolvers. The only thing I don't care for is that they copied the Colt exactly even down to the small rear sight notch, although I can see it pretty good. It's just a pretty small sight picture.

I would highly recommend this revolver to anyone who wants as close to an original thumbuster for about 1/4 the cost.

I just put 100 rounds through mine, needless to say I'm very pleased with it. And I can see a Lightning in 41 Colt ,showing up in the near future.

Bear in mind, Ubertyi's come in at least three grades. Cimmaron buys their top grade. The main difference is fit, finish, and price.

like was said here emf and cimmeron are all made by uberti. If it were my money id buy a uberti. A guy might have better luck with service from the people who actually make them

I have a Cimarron 1872 Colt Open Top that I have not had any trouble with, but then, it's only had about 250 (or less) rounds through it. You wouldn't expect any trouble with so little use. However, that said, I have heard so many horror stories about Cimarron's Customer Service I doubt I will buy another one from them. I kinda like the looks of Taylors firearms, and I'm sure they are Uberti, as well. I think I will give them a try next.

Unless you just want the Colt copy, I would recommend Ruger.  You can get fixed sights or adjustable sights.  I have never had to use it on any of my Rugers, but most everyone says their customer service is first rate.  And as far as durability, you will not find a more durable gun than Ruger.
