octagon rear sight ?
« on: April 09, 2008, 08:22:57 AM »
For those of you who have a 45/410 barrel, I'd like to know what the height of the rear sight blade is.  I measured mine from the flat of the sight base to the top of the sight blade and get .160  which is identical to the sight on the 357 octagon barrel.  Now I know I'm not the best shot, but I couldn't even hit the paper at 25 yards!  I was shooting someone else's  reloads  but that's another 'issue'.  The previous owner of this barrel mentioned that there was some problem with the sights but didn't get into specifics.

This is the URL for the sight chart post that you can also find in the FAQ section at the top of this forum.  I didn't look if it was for octagon barrels but at least it should get you close.

The only octagon barrel listed is in the 22 cal., I had printed this out a while ago and checked it first.  I don't know if there would be that much of a difference between a 10" bull and an octagon height wise.  At least I can get on the paper with any of the other barrels, but this one???
