I just got back from the Gun Shop  :grin: , and i bought the gun I was looking at(the .270)...its a Winchester model 70 featherweight(real nice gun)thnx for all the help

I thought it was another model of Winchester's.  Didn't you said it was the Ranger?

If it's the featherweight, then you DID get a GOOD DEAL.

Again, make sure that you shoot it to make sure there are no problems with it.  I'm probably more excited about your new rig than you are. :wink:

What factory ammo are you planning on using?

Thanks again all,I thought it was to untill I got a better look at it, I had way too much work to do that day(it was only a short visit the day I stopped to check it out before i came back and bought it), lol I dont know Zach im pretty wired right now, lol :grin: ....right now im using federal(for just target practice)(any other suggestions?) but when hunting season comes around, or any competitions im either going with Winchester, or Remington...Ill need some help along the way for what to use, so if you guys dont mind....My father has all the equipt. to handload(I have never done it before) so if you guys have any tips/recipies, I would appreciate all the help!!!!!!! :D

Oh bye the way I might be going out target practicing t-morrow, so ill let you know how I do....thanks again all I really appreciated all the help

Win. Featherweight, probably my favourite hunting rifle. I have one in .257 Roberts(Imp), my buddy has one in .270. Both shoot great. The 270's only seen factory ammo. Mostly a 130 gr Federal Premium load. It did take a very large elk with a 150 Nosler Partition. A front on shot into the neck. The bull went straight down.
Strictly a hunting rifle, that barrel will warm up pretty quick and may start to wander after the 3rd or 4th shot. Of course you'll never need more than one.
