Picked up new 7 CDL in 7-08 for my daughter

I traded my custom FN Mauser 264Win for a new model 7 CDL for my daughter to hunt with and after handling some of my rifles that seven is like picking up a BB gun.  It is a sweet little rifle though, and I think it will be easier for her to handle than my Ruger M77 30/06 that she begged off of me, both size of gun and recoil.  I originally was going to order her this rifle in 260Rem but I was afraid the 1/9" twist barrel that comes attached would suffer the same malady as my 264, i.e.: difficulty stabilizing 140 grain bullets.  BTW, the checkering on the walnut stock on this lil feller is superb!  Just hope it shoots as good as it looks.  I adjusted the trigger and it isn't too shabby.  Her new husband said this was great cause he could borrow it to elk hunt with and she told him to go get his own.

Congrats to you and your daughter, that's an excellent rifle. I've loved mine, (I love all my guns though, so...) it does shoot as well as it looks, and is a very easy carrying rifle.

I've not had any trouble with stabilization, I shoot the factory Hornady Light-mag loads (SST) and they work wonderfully.

If you get time later on, could you give us a range report on that rifle? It might be what I am looking for as I am looking for a nice carrying, good shooting 7mm-08 bolt rifle.

BJM, I sure will but it will probably be towards the end of the month before I get out to Colorado to deliver it to her.  We are planning to take it to the range then and do some shooting.
