Arsenal
« on: April 13, 2008, 08:48:29 AM »
I seen this on a forum i was looking at the other day. anyone with 10 - 12 firearms owns what the feds consider an arsenal and have intentions of anarchy on their minds.

I was just really thinking about it. i believe only two people i know that own firearms have less than ten. most are in the range of 15 and up. I don't see how the could consider it an arsenal if the firearms are collectible.

I guess my other thought about this is does it matter if the are semi-auto or not. My friend just bought 12 aks that need to be assembled yet. SO would that be considered an arsenal even though they are not assembled yet?

I'm just wondering what is going to happen when we get a democrat as a president. I believe most all the views of democrats except their views on gun laws. I went and received my permit to purchase a hand gun yesterday for i can buy my receiver's for my 2 ak's and a G3 since i wont most likely be able to after the elections.  In my head I know i don't need the ak's but they are mine and its my right to be able to own them and how many of them i want.

I just cant help think that this 10-12 guns as arsenal isnt just a way to make it for feds to be able to come to your house and get a accurate count of what calibers and types of firearms you have and put you on a blacklist of some sort to make it hard for you to buy any type of gun if you had any type of semi-auto rifle / assault rifle in your so called arsenal.

Kind of makes me sick thinking that someday i might not even be able to have a rifle in my legal possession.

4 .22 rifles
4 shotguns
5 high power rifles
--
13

Oh no!!!!  My neighbors are at risk -- they are exposed to an arsenal of weapons!!!!

I bought four.  The others were inherited from my father and my wife's father.  Most see no action any more and may be thought of as collectors pieces, although all are in good and operable condition.

What is the purpose of the BATF defining these as arsenals?  Do different rules or laws apply?

would your friend be a gun builder / smith  if he puts the guns togather and sells one ?
does he need a lic.
there are many laws on the books that have not been enforced due to not enough money to pay to have it done !
with computers and such it is getting easier to catch the crook . even if he does not know he did anything illegal !
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I think, to be considered an arsenal, and a violation of BATF regs, 10 firearms are needed in the SAME cartridge.  10 each .223 Remingtons for example, or 10 each 30-06's.  Correct me, if I am wrong.

You are an anarchist and a domestic terrorist threat according to the Democrats.

If you vow to kill all Americans, send money to organizations that support terrorist groups in the mid-east and practice your faith at a muask, your a free thinker who wants social justice.

Well I'm at twelve, but have wisely chosen many different chamberings. I figured it best to have one of each so as to take advantage of available ammo. How am I to react to a politician who does not trust me to own weapons.

It always seemed to me that an arsenal, as used by the police or press, was just a collection of guns in the hands of someone that they had a problem with.  If the police raided Alsatian's house, for instance, he would be pictured as having an arsenal, and thereby looked at as a threat for just having the guns.  Some of the police doing the raiding would have as many, or more than Alsatian, but would be beyond reproach due to their position.

For an antigun police chief or editor, any guns are unacceptable, and it would take just a few to make an arsenal.  Imagine if the poor guy had a few thousand rounds of ammo!

We all know the liberal media uses terms intended to incite the reader and more sensationalize the news.  An arsenal to them is any quantity of firearms more than 3.  An arsenal according to law though is something substantially different.
