Gonna buy me an Icon.......finally

Well after a year, yes a year. I've been debating on whether or not I need one of the new Icon bolt action rifles. Well Gosh Dang it I'm gonna finally buy me one. I'm a sucker for a wood stock with beautiful grain not to mention the other great improvements and qualities that have been further enhanced with this rifle. This new rifle of mine will be chambered in .308, this is one caliber that hasn't failed me yet (knock on wood) with taking down big game from deer to moose and just last fall a nice 5x5 bull elk. These guys were shot with a Win.88 and my also new SS .308 barrel for my Encore.
So who else here has some experience with this rifle that they'd like to pass on to an up & coming owner, pro's or cons are much appreciated....con's won't change my mind though, Thanks All,

Jamie,  You already have the two best rifles made... in the best caliber going.  OK,OK, go for it!!! Then maybe you'll have the 3 best.  Good luck with anyway.  Walt    ;)

Hahaa, Thanks Walt, I failed to mention that I also bought a Norinco M14 last January too, So that would make it 4 .308's ;)

Huntsman/Jamie?  Are you the same Huntsman that I see posting on CGN?  We pm'd a few times about Encore barrels and slug guns.  I'm jjohnwm there.

Kind of cruel of you to be rubbing it in about those Norinco M14's we Canucks have to access to, don't you think?  You know, the ones with the forged receivers, the ones that we can buy for $450 Canadian.  The ones that tend to shoot well right out of the box.  I just picked up my second one a couple of weeks ago.  Now I have one for scope use, and a second that I want to chop down to Scout Rifle configuration.

Sorry, gents.  Couldn't resist.  We Canadians have very little to be envious of when it comes to gun ownership and associated hassles.

Yep, That's me  on CGN ;)
Congrats on your 2nd Nork  ;D ;), I just put a scope on mine and am in the middle of modifying my USGI syn stock,
I think its only fair to rub it in when we can't shoot full auto or own a handgun that's 12-6 (barrel 4" and  less ) unless were grandfathered or own any other military except an AR15
