Handi-Mags
« on: April 15, 2008, 11:05:35 PM »
I've put in an order for a Handi 300WM at a local Ace Hardware. The man said his supplier doesn't have them yet and doesn't know when they will. I'm thinking June/July. Anyway the rifles are supposed to have the polymer stock with molded checkering, a matt stainless 26in. barrel and auto ejector. Retail $319. Anybody have one on order or has more info? Thanks. The 300WM and 7mm Rem Mag have been dropped. I know they cataloged them, but they decided not to proceed. :( I know that decision has disappointed many Handi shooters.

Boy that sounds like a fine set up decent price too.....but it ain't gonna happen they have been discontinued before they got started. As a consolation go get the cataloge it is the closest we will ever be to a mag from H&R. I think Remington may have some Mags for sale though. Kurt

I put a 7mmMag on order last November, quoted price was $290 from my dealer, but alas it wasn't to be.  :'(

The Lady I talked to at H&R about the Handi Mags said that they were still in the R&D dept. She said that while they have been dropped from production they have not been dropped completely by the company. She went on to say that We might be able to see them either by the end of this year to the middle of next. Don't take this as gospel I am just passing on what she told me.

I was trying to order the 7MM Mag.

The only way they'll make it to production is if Remington wants to put $20k into testing, that's not likely to happen after the dismal preorders they got from distibutors when they were listed on price sheets last fall and the reason they weren't at the SHOT show. They aren't going to produce a product that has a poor market. :'(
