It's Here!
« on: April 18, 2008, 12:21:21 AM »

MY .223 Youth model came in. It really is a cute little rifle. Little being the key word. It feels like it's a 1/2 a step larger than a chipmunk, but that's OK.  What's really strange is that my .30-30 set up has a receiver marked N.E.F. This one is marked  Harrington & Richardson. This one also has an HX serial number prefix.

The trigger pull is great. I have more details to sort out. I thought it was supposed to come with the iron sights and the scope rail. I guess not. That's OK though, iron sights is what I was after anyway.

Let us know how it shoots. I believe that's how it come unless you order drilled and tapped with rail for like another $50. Kurt

None of H&R's rifles come with sights and a rail unless you order one of their scoped rifles such as shown in the pic of the compact which is why you thought it came with both, they come with one or the other, if you want a rail it would be optional afterwards, they're all drilled and tapped. All of the rails available are listed in the FAQs.  ;)

There have been a couple discussions about the marking of frames, it appears H&R is marking Handis H&R now instead of NEF, at least many that have been discussed. It used to be traditional for Handis to be marked NEF and Ultras/BCs to be marked H&R, but that is no longer the case apparently, for the last year or so anyway. :-\

Well it is little, but I think it's exactly what I wanted. I'm going to try it in this size for a while before I try doing anything to it. I might get to go shoot it Sunday. We have a gunshow near here Sat. that I'm obligated to go to.

I'd say this is the Handiest Rifle yet.

I'd have to agree that the Superlight is a very handy Handi, my 243 weighs 6lbs-13oz with the Weaver 4x32 shotgun scope, the compact stock would make it even Handier!! ;D
