Wiki's " Living constitution " entry includes this Al Gore quote;

"I would look for justices of the Supreme Court who understand that our Constitution is a living and breathing document, that it was intended by our founders to be interpreted in the light of the constantly evolving experience of the American people."

I'll bet Al Gore endorses a "living bible" too. :D

I guess daddy didn't pay much attention to legal as his money is supposed to have come from illegal whiskey .
I have no problem with the elections , the court could have been employed if they were suspect . Our country runs fairly well , perfect no but it rights itself every so often . Have faith as i see nothing close to what we have .

TM;
   The 2000 election wasn't "robbed" from Algore..he was simply prevented  from robbing the election for himself ! He did get the Florida Supreme court to give
   him their rubber stamp.....so then as is natural, the case moved on to the SCOTUS. That IS the natural progression of such cases, is it not ?
    The Democrats were entirely pleased to accept the decision of the Florida Supreme court, simply because it found in their favor . Pres elect Bush didn't
   shout, "we was robbed!". His team simply moved the case on the the SCOTUS for a final settlement, where the highest court in the land reversed the Florida
    court's decision. Such happens often..how often has the "ninth circus court" in San Fran been reversed ?

    As far as JFK winning the election..he didn't, really (and I voted for him). The whole election came down to Chicago..and the Daly machine. I remember clearly the
   jokes and such while JFK took office. Nixon even knew he was robbed..but he too0k the gentleman's approach, and didn't press the issue.
      A joke has come into our culture from that 1960 election ! It was taken from a statement Mayor Daly made to Chicago Democrats..it was simply " vote early and vote
   often "..

   It must be your memory that is short.there were no "thugs" storming offices..people simply got a bit "sick & tired" of election workers peering at "hanging chads" for several days..stretching into weeks..
   Do you not recall seeing those examiners examining paper punch cards..holding them to the light, looking at them edgewise etc, etc ? ...And do you not recall that
  most of those election examiners were DEMOCRATS..perhaps trying to find a vote where none even existed ?
   Perhaps you do not remember that the liberal media, led by the NY Times..no friend of Republicans, went to Florida some weeks after the election, examined the
    paper ballots AGAIN...and STILL could not hand the popular vote to Al Gore !
         Please recall also..it was Gore and the Democrats that tried to get the LEGITIMATE votes of our military disqualified !!  ..We should make special effort to make
    sure the military vote is counted..after all, it is the military who has to clean up the politician's screw-ups !

   And yes; JFK's dad saw to it that the Chicago vote went to his boy..  Old Joe even boasted later that he was willing to buy the election for his boy..but he wasn't
  going to pay for a landslide !

The election in 1959 between Nixon and JFK was not anywhere near a landslide.  The Chicago area especially, was rife with ballot tampering in JFK's favor.  The electoral college determines the votes for president.  The people vote on candidates, which gives the electoral college an indicator of the people's desire, but candidates are not elected directly.  Nixon was nearly tied with JFK on electoral college votes, even though the states won by JFK had much higher poplulation, which gave JFK the landslide in popular vote but not electoral college vote.

2000, Florida. Retired Senior Citizens that had voted all of their lives in NYC couldn't figure out how to vote.  ROFLMAO. Another case of a bunch of whiners saying it didn't come out how we wanted it to so lets do it over until it does.

I remember after that stoopid crap when the dumcraps complained cause they weren't smart enough to punch a clean hole and said it was too confusing. A 4th grade teacher in Cave City KY gave her kids the same ballots to have a mock election, they had no problem figuring it out. POWDERMAN.  :D :D

What does all this kindergarten boogie man conspiracy stuff have to do with  "Risk of Nuclear Attack on U.S. Rises". Someone must know that their weak antisemitic arguments are getting them nowhere so they are changing the subject.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

so you think it best that no one getting on a plane be checked ? Or people calling certian areas of the world that are known hot spots for terriost not have their call ckecked ? Wouldn't bother me if calls were stopped to certian areas like ham radio is restricted to certian areas of the world . We are fighting a war get over it maybe the mall crowd will be put out a bit !
But if American lives are saved it is worth it To a point !

  Now you are unfairly extrapolating..equating to listening to terrorist calls, with seizing the guns of law abiding Americans is a straw man..and you know it.

   If it happens, it would likely be under a liberal administration..just observe history.
    Conservatives realize the value of an armed citizenry when facing a terrorist enemy..

     Yes; the New Orleans police and local sheriffs tried to seize privately owned firearms..both controlled by the local Democratic machine !

     Yes; the New Orleans police and local sheriffs tried to seize privately owned firearms..both controlled by the local Democratic machine !

Not only true, but a subsequent court case directed the City to return all firearms.  Due the City's anti firearms policy, it hindered and obstructed all those who attempted to retrieve thier personal property.  If you didn't have any documentation of the firearms serial number, it wasn't returned, replaced or reimbursed.  Martial law was invoked due the City's liberal mayor and directed all police officers to rigidlly enforce the directive.  But, I'm sure it was a conspiracy, well planned, well executed after years of practice, total silence from those excuting it and those victims who's firearms were seized, directed Katrina to wait just one more day so the police force was in position, contacted the Iranians and Israel so that they could gain some political advantange, black mailed the Federal Reserve System to stop all funding to victims so that the Bush, Nazi, New World Order can be established and blamed for not being prepared, supplied trailers with hazardous materials construction which caused racial genocide, talked to Moses, Neptune, and Posidon to cause waves that would increase oil profits by damaging Gulf oil platforms, and then destroyed the rice crops of the US so that we can send releif to all the oppressed people in the World.  As others have posted, NOTHING happens in politics that isn't planned, but a single Mayor can accomplish all this and blame it on the President.  Why can't 7-10 ragheads that are trained and educated fly into the World Trade Center and there are still, so called educated American People. think it is a conspiracy by our own federal government?  Just ask those firearms owners in NO during Katrina. if they thought they would ever be deprived of their arms by City police.  Now from whom does common sense demand questions?

TM;
  Some of your points I agree with...but some are "straw men" mixed into real problems (IMO). I have grave reservations about the "eminent domain"  decision and
   am somewhat concerned with the pharmaceuticals, hate undeserved welfare..no matter where it goes...and with a stretch, some attacks upon (not SHREDDING) of
    the Constitution; the most egregious of which was the evil attacks at Waco and Ruby Ridge..
  I refute torture state, election fraud (except in the Dems wanting illegals ,the dead and felons to vote.."early and often"). $5 gas isn't here yet..but it may come,
   however, I have a different view as to the causes. Bankrupt economy is a matter of opinion, and thing seem to be righting themselves now.

   A couple things you forgot to mention that is virtual "killing' our nation through immoral, despicable lifestyles and the coarsening of our culture..where schools
  are told to teach the joys of homosexuality for instance..but are forbidden to pass on Christian values. Illegitimacy is rife, often extending now to 3-4 generations,
  STDs are infecting our uninformed youth at record rates, recreating with drugs have produced the greatest crime wave our nation has ever seen, our freedoms..won with blood, sweat & tears of millions are taken for granted and the great heroes of today (our excellent military folks) are ridiculed by the brainless "pop culture".
    On and no and on...and all that can be laid completely at the feet of commie-liberals !
   I need no lectures about where the core of "dying disease" is in our culture ! I recall one time when we had a useless, liberal Pres & Congress...and that weak, socialist
  President tried to blame it on the people ..who he said suffered from "a malaise" ! Well, those same people who were suffering from a "malaise"..threw his useless butt
  out of the office and elected a moral, Christian man !
    The hostages came home from Iran, the Iron Curtain ( that the "malaise" pres wanted to surrender to) came down..and the people enjoyed the greatest period
    of growth and prosperity we have had since WW2..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)
