Ordered one from the UltOut link in the "encore Recoil Pad" thread.  Just ordered Friday so can't say much about it yet.  Good price, a tad high on shipping though.

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/product.asp?sku=39373&mscssid=5TCFS2MSGV8X8PLAPU9B6HE1B1A030Q5 has it for about 6 bits less, don't know about their shipping costs.

What about wood stocks . . .

I'd be really interested to see if someone out there has ordered and installed one of these recoil pads on a wood stocked encore.  Mine is currently wearing a Boyd's laminated stock.  Would really like to know if one for "synthetic stock only" will fit my gun.  I'm interested in taming some reciol with the 209X50.

for use on the wood stock,  they recommend buying the synthetic version and removing the two protruberances on the back. I have one on the way to put on my stock before I try the 375 H&H. I am nuts. But my brother wants to shoot a buffalo when he gets back from Iraq, so this should do the trick. I'll post a report when I complete the job. :o

Maybe not . . .

I printed out the template from the Simms website (I even remembered to uncheck the box while printing so that it wasn't fit - i.e. stretched - to the page).  I removed the recoil pad from my Boyd's laminated stock and set it on top of the template.  Shows to be about 1/4 to 3/8" too short and a different countour on the bottom.  Guessing that maybe the wood, or just my laminated version, is a different profile that the synthetics.  Whe I ordered the stock from aebco.com the description said that it was the same as the wood version, only carved out of a laminate.  Anyone have anything further on this?

I saw one of these listed on Ebay yesterday, searched "Encore" in the hunting area of sporting goods.

Got mine in today and put it on.  Have to say the pre-fit is more pre than fit.  Leaves considerable overlapping stock on both sides.
