M1 Carbine slides
« on: July 19, 2008, 05:38:39 PM »
while not technically a mil-surp, this seemed like the best place to post this.
Gun parts corp now has newly manufactured slides for the Universal M1 Carbine.
The slide was the weak link in these rifles and had a bad habit of cracking. I test fired my rifle today
and function was flawless. these slides are more robust than the originals.

The part that the charging handle is attached to is called the slide on an M1 carbine.
semi-auto, not a pump.

Nice.  My Universal was an early one and has the mil-spec type slide and reciever.  But I have a friend that has the later model with the weaker slide.  I'll pass it on to him.
