I almost bought the 223 barrel, but instead got the 222,and I' very happy with mine. With reloads that 223 should really shine. My 222 is doing .360" at 100 yds. with my first handloads.   Digger

DD, that is mighty good for any break open or for that matter any rifle. I am going to get a complete rifle in 30-06 soon & give it a go. I still have my 308 & MZ tubes.

Nomo,I was really surprised when the rifle shot this well, because I was shooting handloads that I shoot in my 721 Rem. 222. I've read in several reloading manuals that the 222 would shoot well in just about every rifle made, and I'm beginning to believe it.I think these lower pressure calibers are perfect for the breakovers.   Digger

Yes, I agree. It is not as though other rounds can't shoot well in a break open & often they do, but I believe your best odds for top accuracy are with lower pressure rounds, rounds with smaller case capacity or the combination of the two. However, I have found a bargain i a 30-06 & hopefully it will do well & I know yours has.
