Received my new brass skinner sight (pics) on 1894ss
« on: April 23, 2008, 04:36:49 PM »
They are here, snapped a couple of photos just for those that have been waiting. Straight forward sight, mounted up nice, slight filing on the front dovetail to get it started but it is a nice tight fit. Tim is a great guy to deal with and I only wish all people conducted business like he does, very professional and fast.
.450 front sight to start with.

Straight forward sight.

Still enough room for my hand where I like to carry it.

I have heard nothing but praise for Tim and his products.  Nice looking rig you have there.

I'm going to drive down to see Tim since he only is about 50 miles south of where I live.  I got to shoulder mount his 1895G to see how his sight is with my aging eyes.  I can't even really focus on the rear leaf its a blur, so for now I got a 1.5x3x20mm on top of my 1895G (which makes it look FUGLY).

Good report on the Skinner Sight.

countryrebel, those look great on SS ;)
I put a brass set on my blue 1894CB.
Take a file with you when you sight it in, you will probably want to lower the front sight a bit, so the rear sight wont have to be adjusted so high. After filing mine down I reshaped it and cut serrations in the face, to cut down on glare.

Here is what brass & blue looks like.

I just saw Tim yesterday, and I can tell you that he makes a great sight for our leverguns.  I had him put one on my 1895G and my son's 336C, but had the blued ones put on, since I like those better.
