Synthetic Puma 92
« on: March 17, 2008, 11:43:27 AM »
Ok, so I just purchased a 16" SS Puma 92 .44Mag and I want to turn it into an all-weather go-to gun. As I have found out, no one makes a synthetic stock for them ALTHOUGH you can retrofit a Win 94 Ramline stock onto it, but I have not seen photos nor have I seen a DIY article or anything. Does anyone on here have experience with this?

Also, someone mentioned on another forum about someone putting truck bed liner on their stocks (e.g. line-x) and it works great for weatherproofing and whatnot. What say you guys on this matter?

I think you may end up being the guinea pig on this one. If you try the synthetic 94 retrofit please post here how it goes. I was thinking along the same lines with my stainless puma. If it goes well please post pics.

The truck bed liner sounds like a disaster to me.  A spray can of clear coat would accomplish the same thing and have more class. You could always sand and refinish if it gets banged up but with the truck liner I doubt a refinish job would go so cleanly.

I couldn't find a synthetic stock so went with a black/gray laminate instead that I got from Gunstocksinc.
