hi all
The question that i have is, I have a 14in 223 barrel and i want to know if i can use pistol primers when i reload my 223. OR do i have to stay with rifle primers.

You should use rifle primers, as they are thicker/harder to withstand the higher pressure.

I 2nd RonF's statement .You should stick with SM Rifle primers.. The pressures are Much higher in the 223 than in most small pistol cases.

thanks for the info RonF and sk330lc. very helpful. one of the guys that i used to work with said that he uses magnum pistol primers when he reloads

I believe you'd be hard-pressed to find any published .223 load data using pistol primers, magnum or not. Rifle primers will withstand more pressure than pistol primers will.
