I'm getting there...found a parts rifle for $170 which has gotten me to the point where all I need is the forward part of the stock (I have another stock that was cut off forward and AFT but I'm not sure whether there's enough forearm to rebuild it....and I need the forward Barrel band. Although I have fashioned a bolt stop washer (crude) and made from the top of a 1/2 -13 Acorn nut and a 6mm flat head single slop screw (original I believe was a round head 1/4-28 screw). So it's getting to the point where It' going to be shootable. The cartridge lifter is functioning properly so YEAH!!!. Oh, and I need a flat spring for the main sight, which I can probably fashion out of Spring stock.
I found a very serviceable 1888 for less than $240.00 with all the parts there, so I am pleased. I've always wanted one and except for the stock being really really black and dinged up beyond all comprehension, it functions properly.
