Need Help With Robertson/Smith From Virginia

My family traces back to Virginia and that's as far back as it's been taken.My Great Grandfather John Lane Robertson was born 9-03-1869 in Natchez,Miss.His parents were both born in Virginia.They are Thomas Morgan Robertson and Frances(Fanny)Crawford.My Great Grandmother Nancy Elizabeth Smith was born somewhere in Miss. 12-10-1875.Her parents were both born in Virginia.They are Leonard Smith and Carrie Jemimah Guest.I have no records of any brothers or sisters,but I'm sure they had some,my Great Grandparents had nine children themselves.

I would suggest you check records in the city of Chesapeake Va and the counties of eastern North Carolina , Crestwell NC. in particular. I would also suggest you look into the name Roberson as this was my wifes name before we married. Her dad said some time in the past a great uncle decided to drop the "T" in Robertson . My wifes father has passed on now or I would ask him for more info. Hope this helps.

Randy,
2 and 3 look to be right as well.I know my Great Grandparents moved from Mississippi to Jena,Louisiana before moving to Texas.All their children except one was born there.My Grandfather told me he had cousins in Jena,Louisiana.So it could be quite possible that my Great Great Grandparents could have been both born in Mississippi instead of Virginia like the information I have and died in Louisiana because I have relatives there.Thanks a bunch,if you have anymore info please send it to me.
