Markings on my original Contender Frame
« on: May 13, 2008, 02:20:10 AM »
I bought a second contender frame a while ago and noticed a marking on it the other day. It is an older, stainless original contender frame. The markings are located on the front of the frame and get covered up by the forearm. On the first line it states "TCA-C" and "ROCH-N4" right below it. Can someone tell me what this is? I am also pretty sure that a previous owner had a trigger job done to it since it is a very very light trigger. Thanks for the help.

the TCA would be a limited run or a special issue for Thompson Center Association. TCA members could order some frames and  speciall issue barrels before they were available to general public

The stainless frame that I have, bought new maybe 5 yrs. ago, has similar markings, except for ROCH-NH.  It's not a Thompson Center Association frame.  My opinion is that these are normal factory markings.
TCA-C / Thompson Center Arms / C ?
ROCH-NH / Rochester New Hampshire

Normal markings--the "C" means Contender, as opposed to Encore
Please join the NRA!!!  We couldn't be having all this fun without it.

Thanks for the responses. I was curious since my other original contender frame doesn't have the markings on it.
