Price check on 16 gauge barrel
« on: May 11, 2008, 06:49:06 PM »
What's a fair price (to both buyer and seller) for an NEF 16 gauge 2-3/4 inch chamber full-choke barrel, 28 inch length?

New factory fitted barrels are going for $42 + $10 return shipping + $15 fitting = $67 , then you also have the shipping to get the frame to the factory , so somewere in the $50 to $60 shipped range would not be out of hand .

I have seen them go for more and less but now you have some place to start .

Thanks for the advice.

The reason I ask is I have a 16 ga. NEF SB-1 to sell, but I also have a Handi-rifle that needs a new hammer.  I have the 16 ga. listed on Gun Broker, but if it doesn't sell there, I may just piece it out; sell the barrel, and use the hammer in the Hand-rifle.  I just have to educate myself on taking the NEF action apart and reassembling it.

Check the FAQs in the CF Forum , there is a link that will walk you through the take down and reassembly of the action , also check e-bay , some times they have complete internal kits for the H&R's .

Sure hate to see a good frame robbed of its goodies if you don't have to .  ;)

I agree with Stimpy. I sure hate to see a good frame robbed of its goodies if you don't have to. Why don't you just get a hammer and keep them both?....<><....:)
