Return of the Savage 99

Yes I have and didn't get that kind of results? Actually, I was under the impression, these actions are on the weak side?

My 1970-ish Savage has toppled many animals for me.  This dandy forky was taken in Napa County, California.  Coastal blacktail deer are not large animals.  This mature buck weighed about 120 lbs or so.

The 99's safety is quietest I've ever handled. The flush magazine clip has no equal in quality and user-friendly action.   But the Savage 99 will fade if improperly marketed.  The current focus seems to be black plastic stocked with bolt actions.

In early 90's there was a brief but widespread interest in traditional archery.  Sam Fadala called it the Return of the Recurve.  A similar event could be brewing for lever guns since Mossberg and Henry now offer 30-30 carbines.  Hopefully, the 99 will be accepted as the modern hunting rifle it always has been.

i would love to see the Savage 99 with the rotary magazine in .300 Savage And .358winchester

Cabelas In FT.Worth has 99's in the rack all the time some times 7-8,
no matter what shape they are in they are $900.00-$999.00
and some are very rough.
My brother bought one new in 55-56, 308,brass rotary mag, shell indicator, still looks very good
by the prices i see his should be worth $1,500.00-$2,000.00

    Gun Digest Magazine has the starting at $600 and going up to $3500.
