It seems that the battle-wars with the WSMs and SAUMs have finally revealed the winners and loosers. Although certainly not official as this is just my observation and opinions, Winchester's WSMs won the battle in the .300 and .270 department while Remington won in the 7mm department.
Interestingly, I have a Winchester Classic Stainless in .270 WSM and just ordered a Kimber 8400 Montana in .300WSM. However, if (or rather "when") I buy a short action in 7mm, it will likely be the same gun you are talking about - the M7 SS. Actually, I would really like it if Remington came out with their Mountain rifle LSS in the short action 7mm - that would be one heck of a combo!
