96/22 MAG trigger
« on: May 18, 2008, 04:42:34 PM »
I was wondering if the trigger group of a 96 could be swapped out with a 10/22. are they the same? if so that would be nice because the 96 trigger is a little heavy for my taste. i am planning on getting a 96/22 mag and fixin it with a heavy match barrel. i know i will have to do some stock work but thats ok. i had a 96 in 22lr but sold it. i regret it. they are nice rifles.

I went and looked at the parts break down at Ruger.None of the parts that I see, except the safety, look the same.Have never reworked a lever, but can do a 10-22 trigger easy.Slow

the bear:  Todd at ttshooter can work some miracles with a Model 96 trigger for $60 - he did mine and he did it well - I highly recommend him:
