will G2 muzzleloader bbl fit old contender frame?

After a two year hiatus and a cross country move, i am back on greybeard!   Found a nice contender, want to know if the new muzzleloader bbls will fit the old frames.  I know the foreend is different, how about it, thanks a ton, John

The new barrels have a post on them preventing complete closure on an old style frame. If you cut the post off it voids the barrel warranty.  Works great on mine.

I have an older Contender serial number 77XXX. I sent it in and had the "easy open" modification done to it. While there they changed all of the locking bolts on my old barrels. I then purchased a 221 FB barrel from the custom shop. I had to change the locking bolts on the new barrel to match the ones on the old barrels I sent in. It locks up real good now, before it was sloppy. I would imagine that you will find the same thing with a G2 muzzle loading barrel. Good Luck and Good Shooting.

Bought a new G-2 frame a month ago.  Brought it home and put on my oldest barrel, an 8" Octagon 30-30 barrel, the barrel locked up tight, but the forearm did not fit.  Have not tried my other barrels.

One of my forearms needed the "ears" trimmed to fit.  All the rest worked.  I don't recall which one it was any more.
