Anyone currently making their own .17 Cal bullets?

I am curious if anyone is making .17 Cal bullets or has any dies for them.  Larry

Yes, I have a set of .17cal 6S dies, Jackets, a kit to reduce .22rf hulls to .17, and a lead wire core die. Not much call for them locally.

I have some dead soft aluminum wire I would love to have swaged into a jacketed aluminum core bullet.  Dead soft aluminum is not much harder than some leads, with the move in some areas to lead free bullets there may be a market for a long for cal light bullet for the 9 twist 17 barrels.  Something like a 30 gr Berger that weighs 20 gr.  Let me know, I will pay you to swage some up for me.  Larry

Sorry, I only use soft (BnH 5 or 6) soft lead in my cores. Do you know what the hardness rating is for that AL you have? If it's over 8 it exceeds the safety factor for my 'M' type dies.

I don't know the hardness of the aluminum I have, I will be happy to cut off a chunk and send it off to you.  I would think that the very small area of a 17 cal bullet would let some fairly hard material be formed with very little pressure on the press.  Larry
