Swedish Mauser

I have recently purchased a Swedish Mauser barreled action, that someone has started to customize. The crest of course has Carl Gustav name on it, and the little Kings crown is punched on all parts with matching serial numbers on all parts.

I have a Swede already, but this one differs in that with the crest on the receiver, it also has the year 1920 on it. Is there any significance to this?

Have not yet finished the stock for it. But took it to the range day before yesterday, and it shot a .8 inch 3 shot group with my reloads, not bad for an 88 year old barreled action.

I recently acquired a Swedish Mauser, Model 96/38 Carl Gustav dated 1900.  I would 'assume' that yours is the same model.  Since it's been customized the front sight most likely has been changed out with a taller blade.  Was your group at point of aim or about 6" high?  I've got a front sight blade on order, hopefully it'll come in next week.  If I could get a .8 inch group out of it, I would be VERY happy.

No iron sights at all. The barrel has been cut to 24 inches with any residue of iron sights gone. My group was shot with a Leupold vari-x  2 3x9 mounted with one piece redfield base and rings.

I worked all night last night with 400 grit polishing for the blueing tanks, man you talk about a work-out, you want to build some forearm strength there be the ticket. I have got a friend that does my blueing, he is pushing  70, and his body stature looks unassuming, be forewarned though you do not want to do a power hand shake squeeze when you shake his hand. If he clamps down (where he has done this for years) he will brake your hand.
