help food plot, specific, corn?

   I bought 80 acres three years ago.  I am trying to build it better for deer, rabbit, turkey.  It is 30 acres timber with 50 acres fescue mix hayfield.  The hay is put up on shares so it is bailed yearly.  I was looking at planting a 1 acre food plot that sets between the timber and a fence row.  Deer already like this corner so I figured its a natural place to improve.  So clover is kinda high.  I was thinking maybe a perinial mix next to the timber and corn or soybean in the middle.  If I went with corn what would I do at the end of the season say spring to rid myself of the stalks.  My equipment is a 60 horse tractor, 10 ft disc and a 3 pt broadcast seeder, 6 ft brush hog.  Corn would have to be basically hand planted with a earthway push planter.  South west area of state

yu could brushog the corn and then disc it down this fall early and plant a deer specific food plot mix, or turnips. im trying turnips this year but it will be a first for me.clover is high but it doesnt take many lbs to seed one acre as the seed is tiny.if the deer are used to fecue, anything else yu can get in there will attract them ill bet.

Try planting some Milo. Deer really like it. I planted some in a plot last year and when the heads got ripe the deer striped it nearly over night. I'm going to plant more this year and stagger the planting so it won't all ripen at the same time. That should keep 'em coming back. Also, if you are planting corn use sweet corn. They love that stuf too. I planted turnips but found out later that they eat that after it freezes or so I was told. I've also got some alphalfa & clover planted. I'm trying to give them a variety. I'm open for any other ideas too.
